Rickmansworth

Rickmansworth is a town mainly to the north of the Grand Union Canal and the River Colne; with Watford being 8 kilometres (5 miles) to the northeast.

Fun fact: the college Indiana Jones works at in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) was filmed at the Royal Masonic School in Rickmansworth.

Green Spaces

Near, in, and around Bury Lake, Batchworth Lake, and Stocker’s Lake; Rickmansworth Aquadrome is water sports venue. There you can go water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, have lunch in the picnic area, play in the park, and have a walk down the footpaths around the lakes, canals, and rivers.

Need a nice place to walk the dog? Stocker’s Lake is perfect with it’s dog-friendly area and non-paved footpaths.

The Batchworth Lock Canal Centre, the Batchworth Lake and the Grand Union Canal Walk all contain trails for you to explore. The footpaths and cycle routes will lead you around the lake, canals, and boat tours.

Chenilles Manor House has beautiful gardens to walk through. Not only do they have a range on different flowers and trees, they also have peaceful ponds.

 

 

 

Education

Christ Church Chorleywood Church of England School, Harvey Road Primary School, and Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School are for 3-11 year olds.

Rickmansworth School, Saint Clement Danes School, and Saint Joan of Arc Catholic School are all academy converter primary schools for 11-18 year olds.
